PostSubject: New scorpion owner   6/15/2012, 4:38 pm

I recently got a new scorpion, and Iím not sure if it is sick, was hurt at the shop or previous owner, or just molting. Itís behavior seems to be pretty normal. The thing Iím concerned about is, if you look at itís face it appears to only have one Chelicerae, or whatever the tiny pincer looking part of the mouth is called. The right side is completely missing and you can see down into itís shell. Being new to owning scorpions I donít know if it a normal part of molting or if it has been hurt or sick. Any info would be helpful thanks in advance.

Hmnn.. a healthy scorpion which is close to molting or in actual molting do not have a missing chelicerae. However, it is possible that the cause was due to injury sustained from a fight or an affect part due to a "faulty" molt previously. Pictures would be helpful for accessment.

Btw, what scorpion is it?

Before i forgot, welcome to the forum.

Do a self-intro when you can Smile

Cheers.

It's an emperor scorpion. That is a pic of what it looks like.

Nice looking emp. emp
You might want to give it a larger water dish, they do like to submerge themselves every once in a while. Smile
