| How big of a problem r ants to a emp? I've been knowtacing ants inside my housr. The top of the tank that my emp is in has mostly screenscreen. The gaps inbetween the threads, are big enough for these ants to get into the tank. Should I be that ants worried? I've heard somewhere that ants can cause a prob if they get in. | |

| Ants are a big problem, they have been known to swarm a tank and kill scorpions. I believe it was ~Abyss~ had ants eat half of his collection once. I'm not really sure what you could do other that put down traps, etc. Although, I knew someone who had ants kill a Avic while it was molting. What did he do? (Before I say, fair warning, he is completely insane.) He found the ant colony, poured gasoline down the burrow, lit a match, dropped it on the gasoline, and ran away really fast. Now, unless you're as crazy as my friend, you probably won't do that.

| I to have an ant problem, and these ones are the super tiny ones so no matter how small the screen they will still get in. luckily they were more interested in going into the carrier I keep crickets in and eating the crickets and their food than exploring my tank. Even after a "professional" sprayed my apartment over a month ago I would find them everywhere, so i bought a can of ant spray, took the tank out of the room for a couple hours (so the fumes wouldnt cause damage to my scorps) and sprayed all the corners, edges of the floor, window seal, and outside of the room... that was a week ago and havent seen any ants since.... now the rest of the apartment is a different matter | |

| Lucky that the ones i've been dealing with are the big carpenter ants. I live with my sis and no way would she let me bomb or spray the place. I do have a2nd tank with smaller mesh but the tank is allot smaller. 2.5 gallon compared to the ten gallon he is in. would it be worth putting him back into the smaller tank. | |

| I have "Thie/Grease" ants in my apartment... I noticed once that there were about 5-10 on a cricket leg I forgot about in my Emp's tank overnight. I used ant-killing gel around the bottom of the table my 10gal tank sits on, no more little [ bad word ] anymore. Spent about an hour sifting soil with a white LED flashlight looking for them. Seems they weren't interested in my Emp though, none on him, or around his hide.
I had a pretty bad "regular black ant" problem too, and I found out where they were entering my apartment (ground floor sucks), and Raid-ed them for good.
I hate ants, and my girlfriend has a tendency to leave food out.. :/

| They also have little "traps" like roach hotels but for ants if your not going to spray. the spray isnt bad at all and the "fumes" arent bad. i just moved mine just to be sure. but if your ants are big they have screen metal mesh that would prob work good against them. | |
