Nice Mesobuthus you've got there!

Any sign of embryos yet through the pleural membrane?

Thanks Dolby. I havent really checked yet and they are pretty small, so I would need to move her to see perfectly and she is hidden most of the time. Also I dont want to stress her too much, I really want this birth to go perfectly. When she decides to make an appearance again I will have a look.

Atleast with on M. gibbosus the embryos are usually clearly visible.
I suppose these are about the same size (a bit smaller than H. hottentotta)

They are about 4-5cm. I usually work with larger scorpions such as Parabuthus and Androctonus, so this 'small' scorpion thing is new to me.

Man, you've seriously got a collection that many scorpion enthusiasts would kill for. Just the collection regarding your Hottentotta, Mesobuthus and Parabuthus leave me in awe every time I visit this thread. Very cool specimens!

UPDATE (once again...):

2 new additions for my ever-growing collection.

0.0.1 Parabuthus planicauda(light morph) probably 4th or 5th instar:

0.0.1 Opistophthalmus pallipes(thinking male):

Here is an adult female which I saw last year while on holiday(camera phone, lol):

They are much more forgiving in temps and humidity than most Opistophthalmus spp which live in much more dry and hot conditions. This female was found in winter when the temps were dipping to -5 degrees centigrade and it was constantly raining in daytime and snowing and freezing over at night.

This is what a male's chelae looks like:

(Taken from: www.ispot.org.za )

Lastly my 0.1 P.schlechteri moulting to 4th instar):

Thanks Dolby. These are great Androctonus, my pair eat like there is no tomorrow, much more than my bicolors and australis.

I am pretty sure she gravid as she was mated multiple times, but she is only in her early stages, about 3 months approx.
