Hadrurus arizonensis humidity question Empty

So know that H. arizonensis need very dry environments. I am concerned about the summer though. In my area it can become very humid. Is this a threat to my scorpion? What can I do to help? Thanks!

Some of the others are probably more knowledgable than myself, but I would keep him on bone dry sand and provide a small cap of water once-a-week or so. Maybe put a small rock in the cap. I do this for my desert scorps and top the water off once-a-week and let it go dry inbetween. I think it is best to place the cap in the middle of the cage and not in a corner. This way the scorps won't stand in it when he is climbing the walls.

I forget what instar yours is but I feel the the above is for adult desert scorps. If he is a smaller instar he may need about 20% of his cage misted once or twice a month. I like to have a digital humidity gauge in my scorp room. If your humidity get over 50% I would skip the misting. I'm not an expert on this spieces though so you might wait for the others to chime in.

Usually it's not an issue as long as the enclosure itself is dry. However this specie needs a little more humidity during molts. If you have an adult just keep the enclosure dry

If your home is air conditioned in the summer the humidity will be fine. It may actually get too cold. So an IR lamp will keep him warm and will keep the enclosure dry too. IR lamps are win/win for desert scorps.
