My newest addition. Came across (her?) by chance. After a game of Airsoft, we were packing our gear up and some dude spotted it crawling up his arm and flipped. I walked up and toke it off his arm, and now it lives in my little critter keeper. I must say, for my second scorpion, its pretty cool (especially since it stings its prey, unlike my emp)

Lovely scorp, but that's a Centruroides vittatus.

Indeed it is. I guess since I found it in FL I assumed it was a Florida Bark Scorpion. Thanks! I was wondering why all the pics looked different than what I had *facepalm*

Wish I could find these guys in my back yard Very Happy

Oh and it does look female to me, best get on the hunt for a male! Look for one with a longer, thinner tail in proportion to it's body, and with not as bulky body as the female.

On second thoughts, an adult WC female is most likely already gravid.

Keep your eyes on her Very Happy

+1
Can probably do some research on them now and be prepared for some babies.... no harm getting ready first as you go along trying to find a male for her Smile

Very nice, to my knowledge the Stripped Bark from Florida is Centruroides hentzi. I don't think Centruroides vittatus are found in Florida. Correct me if I'm wrong. Still very nice though!!!

Sweet Man! I love emps, got a male and a female of my own. Ha, I've seen my emps do the same thing. They go into some hole and get stuck and fight for an hour or so to get out, it's always fun to watch. Razz
