hey all, jus a few questions i have about my female mysore forest scorp that recently had babies, sadly around 2 or 3 died i found them under her one looked like it had been trampled.

now do i feed the mother a cricket or something cos i reckon giving birth to 15 plus babies would give you quite an appetite and ive read that the mothers feed the babies?
also she sits under the cork bark with all the babies on her back apart from one little one that has ventured over to the other side and sat itself in the little exo terra cave by itself, im not sure if it will go back on its mothers back or wether i should seperate it? i dont want to take it away if its not ready plus i dont think it will be ready if its siblings arnt.

really sorry people i would of reseached this more but it came as a big surprise as i wasnt even told the sex of it when i bought it let alone that itd been breeding as it looked too young to me anyways.
cheers

Hi borogecko,

Heterometrus mysorensis babies (In fact, most of the forest scorps) can be raised just like emperor scorpions' (Pandinus imperator).

Most of the areas of concern are already covered and can be found with a search E.g. "Raising Emperor scorpion babies" in this forum or on google.

Do let us know if there's anything not covered, we'll then try to assist if possible.

Regards,
GS

welcome to the forum Smile

kust leave them to it, id give th mum a cricket head cruch it and tong feed just in case she pays no attention then there will be no risk of the cricket eating babies...then when they are off mum just throw in some small crickets and they should feed themselves our babie emps where feeding themselve quite soon Smile

thanks for the welcome:)

i fed her a cricket the other day and she had it straight away, i checked a few hours later and the babies were sharing the other half i was amazed Smile sadly the one that went off to the other side died but the 12 babies that are left have been walking around under the cork bark a bit, still sticking near their mam though so think they are doing ok Smile
