I think you are right, or a hungred out B. albiceps.. Anyway dude, it doesnt look too healthy. I'm thinking it might not make it unless it feeds well and appreciates your love and care! Ts that stand on their toes like that is never a good sign imho.

yeah im gonna try to help it out as much as i can. but realistically i think its on its way out no matter what. i inspected it more a little while ago and it definitely is a mature male, has the spurs e todo. mature males dont live long after they mate and only up to a year after their maturing molt..
i feel bad, having him trapped in a glass cage so far away from his home in Fountain Hills where he could potentially be breeding or getting eaten by sexual cannibalism or a predator during his nightly walks.

DEF not albiceps. The arse hairs should be bright red.
chalcodes (or rather what they now call chalcodes) is a possibility, but so is A. hentzi or a million other of the "new" aphonopelma species that have been found in the last few years. Almost all are pretty identical.

Yeah, it looks a bit ropey but the arse isnt too shrivled up. A good drink should get him back to his wandering ways. I've pulled many back from FAR worse and they've gone on to produce viable sacks.
had them in full death curl, with just the barest of movements when picked up and they've survived.

Looks just like a Aphonopelma hentzi to me. I have one. Just a sling right now, VERY slow grower, but very nice t to have. They're pretty docile and I love the colors. Wish I lived in a place where i could just find these guys. lol

nice Peloquin, the thing is i dont have any mature females of the Aphonopelma million different species to prostitute to him.hahaha
i think it drank some water and is wandering about, but still hasnt touched a cricket.

RoachGirl, yeah its pretty docile, when i was dropping some crickets in it climbed over the edge of the tank so i put my hand under the edge and it proceeded to calmy walk about my hands and arms.

I wouldn't worry too much about it not eating yet. Mine is a sling and has only eaten MAYBE three times since I've had it. The abdomen doesn't look like it's shriveled or too small here. I'll go with what most T keepers say, it will eat when it's ready. Wink

what do you guys think i should do.id like to let it go back into the wild where it was caught buuuuutttt..
i cant just go drive up to where the guy found it.im like 70 miles away.if i give it back to the dude at work to set free hes just going to go sell it to some other guy he sells things to.
i tried to tell the dude its a mature male that was on his female hunting stroll and got lost in his neighbors house.it doesnt have much longer to live and hes already unhealthy.petstores would sell this guy for $15 or just give it away for free.
then the dude tells me well i did my research too and it still is gonna get bigger.i informed him of what meaning of mature male and tibial spurs and what not and he says "right". he says he'll take it back and keep it to breed with a female.the thing is this dude doesnt even know what he's looking for, like what species this is or what the female looks like.he says he has a way to get a female out of her burrow but wont tell me his "secret" and theres lots of burrows by his house. he doesnt keep arachnids or insects or have any experience dealing with em except catch a scorp or t and sell it.
so i smell bs.i know hes just trying to get it back to sucker the other guy to buy it and hes not gonna let it go.

thanks Roachgirl,i just added more substrate and rearranged the viv hes in and took out some of the crickets.i handled him in the process again, this time hes alot more agile and climby.had to sit down and lean forward he evaded my hands in a slow relentless manner.when i got him back into my hands to put him back in he pooped on me.good sign of liquid consumption.was probably constipated, ehhh.

Get in your car and drive out there. Take him with you. Try to find a females burrow and pour a couple gallons of water down it. She'll come out. Mate them your own self. If you fail to find a female let him go. Tell your co-worker he's a dick. Call it a night.

While you're out there catch some scorps...

Perfect on both fronts! I'm thinking I'll ship yours out first, then you can reuse the insulated box to cut costs.
