Well I dont know really ofcourse, but I can imagine having something like a needle that needs to penetrate most hard exeskeletons bugs have, would glance regularly when being pushed forcefully and fast

Damn my english sucks when I need to be precise.

Sorry lol

Street, are you thinking about kids?

From the look of things, I think it might be an instar 4. A lot of darkening up to do! They look more like Tityus falconensis/magnimanus atm. Or are they the same species?

True Anna, that is what gives them their look. If you look closely you will see it is their arms, folder a longside the head.

PostSubject: Re: Tityus asthenes   8/22/2011, 7:27 pm

Anyway, I just got confirmed these are asthenes. I saw the parents and they were completely black. So they are not magnimanus. If you ever buy some asthenes, they should look like this at i3 i4...

And a second picture. All are eating like pigs, they mature very fast.. So hoping to have some broods in the near future (they do have a year gestation period).

Like obscurus they have some pretty long and slender pincers.. When they hide and crawl onto the darker pieces of the wood it is very very hard to see them. This is one of the best camouflages I have ever seen. Really got to be on your toes when you grab the wood as to not squeesh a scorp.

Its like you have to inspect every piece of cork CAREFULLY, as they can hide within the various natural cervices within the cork slabs!

Hehe babe thanks
I do this for my own amusement too, so no thanks needed! Although very kind.
When these mature I can look back what they looked like and when I get to breed them.. will be prepared to see what stages will have to be gone through again.

Its nice to have something as a back up :-)

Hahahaha, no wonder the Arizona camera's drive you crazy.

Been tryin to get a good photo of our girl sticking her butt up towards the light. I discovered a macro setting on my little digital cam. Getting em thru the glass not so good, so I gotta sneak up on her with the top open............almost had one too!!!!!

Sorry to pollute the forum with this thread again, but I get a hard on from these. Its the biggest one I have. Instar 4 or 5.

It killed the cricket rather silently, I saw the cricket crawl under the piece of bark.

I saw its antennae move. I saw, like a little vibration on the cricket, and it was dead. It didnt even collapse it was just like it got a sudden death from a heartattack. Afterward it got sucked in.

This is what happened when I lifted the piece of bark.
