Nice! Are they always that visible and active or do they stay hidden in the substrate a lot?
What do you feed them?

Dude, awesome! I'm not a fan of centipedes (those buggers creep me out) but I love the milipedes. You raised them since they were an inch long? Nice! cheers

they are pretty active until they get ready to molt, then they can stay burried for weeks. i feed them carrots and dark greens like kale, turnip greens and collard greens and the occasional fruit like an apple slice.

Cool. No crickets required! They're looking more and more attractive.

I acquired these guys in November 2009 at 1 inch in size. In late November/early December of 2011 I witnessed the mating of 2 of them. I do have a confirmed pair and now all I can do is wait and hope I get babies. You all can be sure that I will have some for sale as soon as they are 1 inch or bigger but I do not know how long it will take from mating until they are that size.

I lost one of my millipedes a few weeks ago. I am sure it was one of my females as I've seen mating in the remaining two. I'm not certain what killed the millipede but I think it was bad husbandry issues that have been resolved.

Shame to hear you lost one of these giants that you raised for years and the female aswell, that's real unfortunate.
