Scorpio maurus, i got offered one of these scorps the other day but i turned it down because i thought it was a bit pricey,the price can vary, are they availble often in the hobby?

I think availability usually has to do with where you are located. Not positive though.
Around here (New England, U.S.A) most African species are only available during summer months.
Local temps have something to do with it I think, to hot is usually bad for most scorps so dealers usually will not ship them, same for cold weather.
If you get the chance to pick 1 up again you should, in my opinion they are a very cool species
great colors they have a nice shine to them and very feisty not 1 to take crap from anything.
