i do not get this.it appears mold is growing on the eco earth in the c.sculpt viv. i dont get it?!
i use the same substrate for my emps and their substrate is moister and has a heat lamp.
what do i do? add a heat lamp to dry out the sub?
do a change out of the freaking sub ive had in there for what only a week?!
no mold is growing on the bark pieces just on top of the sub.

C. sculpts should be kept on dry sub, but with a light misting in the corner once a week or so. I never kept them on straight coco fiber either. Mix 1/3 coco to 2/3 sand. The coco fiber will help hold the humidity from the misting.

What is your room temperature like where you are keeping them?

i figured id let it dry and keep the sub dry.from what ive read they actually like hiding in moist dark cool places, the extra humidity would help with the youngs molts and help keep the mom hydrated.
the have darn good ventilation as nothing obstructs the screen lid.
these days in the summertime my room stays between 79-81 degrees and when somebody is being a cheap buttocks 84 at the highest.

Sounds good. I forgot that you had the slings in there. I'd still offer a moisture gradient for them so they can regulate where they need to be. Keep one side more moist in other words.

yes i know what a gradient is buddy!

i really didnt want the soil too moist but i used the eco earth that comes in blocks and had to soak it.a week later in a well ventilated viv i figured it wouldve dried by now but i guess thats only with a heat source.

what should i do with the lil fuzzies growing?

The mold should go away if you let it dry out. Either way I don't think it'll be too big a problem. It shouldn't hurt the scorps.

Yeah I'd get her one. Better to have and not need.... If she's basking, she wants it though.

hmmm could i trade it off with my emps til i get a proper heat bulb for my other heat lamp?
trade off i mean during the day warm my emps viv then at night let the sculpts use it.
i have a heat lamp for my bp but i have a 25w night glo just for lighting when i want to view her nocturnal adventures and for feeding time. i have the heat pad thermostat for heating on that baby and she would not miss it and i could switch the bulbs when i want to use it for her anyway.

i was gonna say i need another rheostat but it has two plugs sweet!
