I just returned home from a redneck weekend adventure in Marysvale Utah. Beautiful high desert country there, home mostly to cattle ranchers and sheep herders. There are more ATV's than cars in this place, so in an effort to fit in, I donned Ol' Glory and hit the trails.
'merica!
We rode into the mountains and enjoyed the remaining snow. I even had a little nap.
When we came down from the hills we hit some of the lower elevation trails. I took the opportunity to flip some rocks when we stopped for a minute. In our five minute rest I found a couple Vaejovid scorps. Both were living under cow crap.
This is scorpion country.
This was a tiny instar I found. I let it go.
This is the one I brought home. I call her lucky because her fingers cross each other on both hands.
It was fun in the sun, and I got cooked. Soaking in Aloe Vera now waiting for the melanoma to set in.

Pluto: I'll bronze for you any day! The fastest I've gone on that quad was about sixty miles per hour. I think that about topped it out.
Leiurus: You may not have cool bugs in Mass. but you do have the Dropkick Murphys.
Jaime: Most of my ink is still not finished LOL. My chest is soooo not done, but it's been like two years since I had any work done on it. I'm not even going to pretend like I'm hardcore. The chest is brutal and hurty. I'll finish it after my arm...
Bex: It is nice to have this available. As with most things, we take it for granted. Most people in my state never enjoy the wonderful natural areas we have here, an many of them don't care enough to protect them. It's sad.
Cyanide: Not quite sure what you are talking about, but I'm assuming a truck. Some of the trails we hit would have been a death warrant for anything larger than a quad. Roll down the mountain...
Any how, it was a pretty good time. I wanted to get out and really look for some stuff but the sunburn is brutal. I couldn't face another day in the desert sun. Next time...

I do love the scrubby desert land that we have here. Down south we have Zion, Arches, and the wonderful Moab slick rock. We have beautiful mountains only twenty minutes away on my bicycle. If it were just me down there I would have ditched the quads and rode the trails on my mountain bike.

LOL AT THE MUSIC. Was thinking about finding something on youtube with "hillbilly music" but it is impossible to beat yours! Maybe Mississipi blues will give me something even more retarded, but I doubt it.
