Howdy,
due to clashing facts on the internet leading me in twelve different directions I have brought my quest for knowledge here, to the experts. Does anyone know what Paruroctonus Boreus (Northern Scorpion) is like as far as care requirements, feeding, potentcy, longevity, etc. . . I am going to be in a part of Wyoming where I can hunt them this summer and look forward to having a few for pets so I would like to know what I am getting myself into. Thanks all! Hip Hop

Vaejovidae subcategorie

They get 35 mm long, not too big
They like it dry and hot
Sandy substrates with rock and sandstone hides, narrow cavities preferred
They do burrow so a nice 4 inch of substrate would be cool.

Mimick conditions of Southern Alberta, where they are found abundantly..
warm summers, cold winters
I'd keep them at 27 degrees Celsius during summer, let them cool off at room temperature during winter as this is the average temperature of southern Alberta during the summer. It will be a natural resting season from them.

Unpleasant sting, not too dangerous otherwise
They breed easily in dry hot weather

I'd say to take care of them like desert species, misting once a week since they are not that extreme hydrophobic.

I'm no expert whatsoever and only found this by googling..

I keep mine at room temperature throughout the entire year. In the summer my house is at least 75 to 80 degrees depending on if we run the AC. During the winter it's 72 degrees. He does fine at those temperatures. Feeds regularly. Burrows. Acts as he should.

Hands on xp is always better than theoretical. So there you go. Thanks Street!

MITCHELL, honestly how many inverts do you have? You keep popping up with new ones. I think you're a pro dude in disguise... with a sick, perverted (i like it) sense of humor.
