Second one a B.Jacksoni? ok, you are right on the jacksoni but the rest of your guesses are wrong. the first one is a Hottentotta sp (judaicus) if I'm not mistaken and the second has been stated as a Babycurus jacksoni of the "chocolate morph" and the third is a Superstitionia donensisglad you made it over Scott

| Hi Scott @Rasputin: the first one is a Orthochirus sp, probably Orthochirus scrobiculosus negebensis. Look at the metasoma, it's typical for this genus (and some other genera which are not available in the hobby). | |

| That whole Orthochirus genus just seems weird to me -- they look all big and menacing with that huge tail, but then when you throw in a dime for size comparison I can't help but squee at how cute and tiny they are. Cool pics as always, Scott. | |

Cool pics as always, Scott. Thanks Mike! The dime did deminish the perception a bit LOL. These rarely sting and tuck the stinger in while waiving the telson menacingly. I got stung once because I angered a male to the boiling point(he stuck out his aculeus instead of tucking)where I proceeded to grabbed his telson strait on to the point of the aculeus,so basically I stung myself

| That "waving the telson menacingly" bit actually made me laugh. I just can't imagine finding prey small enough for 2I short of fruitflies. | |

It is funny and weird ! the babys are surprizingly big and can take prey that is fairly large. The venom seems to work very fast on prey but luckily it is not that bad to us. Here is a baby(2i to 3i) after a molt.

| they are very good subject to observe. they always search for weak point in prey's armor to sting instead of piercing it using strenght. Scott-Land do you have any experience in communal keping this genus? | |
