How new are you to the hobby? I'd suggest getting your feet a little wet before bumping up to either of those genera.

A good early Buthid is Centruroides vittatus -- communal, eat plenty, and mild venom as far as barks go.

Scorpions are animals which lack a sense of real thinking. That said they only attack what they need to survive. When they are full they are full. It is not possible to force them to eat.

They do get defensive once they are settled in and you come knocking on their door. But that is not really hunting.

You might go for one of those. I have an andro psycho that just kills bugs, eats the head and leaves it. Drop in something else, same story. She's a wacko though. My other ones are not nearly as moody.

If you know what you are doing and don't take risks, either species is ok. Just as long as you remember what you bring home and respect it for what it is.

I have an adult H. Spinifer Smile

I wish to try a new experience in having those genera Smile
