There's a number of reasons why the Babies didn't make it. Stress is the main thing, the mother might have been stressed so she ate them. The male cage mate might have ate them. An unsuitable environment causes stress, constant check in's and messing with the hides are also big stress factors even though you mean well.

As for her leg, if you were messing with her, then this may have been your fault. If you may have dropped her or even if you lifted the hide to give her a look, you could have accidentally crushed her leg putting it back down. Is their anyway you can post pictures. If it's not to bad, her next molt should fix it. But since she gave birth, I'm assuming she is fully grown and not going to molt. If it's not to bad, she may heal up.

Scorpions, though arachnids.. do not regenerate lost limbs as where spiders do.
This being said, if the leg is broken (exoskeleton) it might lose it, but it will not grow back.

On the other hand, I doubt one injury like this would kill her.

once i saw that she was having babies i was scared to mess with her at all i stopped feeding crickets as i was told they may bite the babies and went to mealworms and i didnt even want to try to take the male out as i didnt want to stress her while the babies were on her back. the only time i took the top off was to feed and water them... i did however see the male eating one of the babies. is it possible that he may have attacked her to get to it? i took the best pic i could as i dont want to handle her with her leg messed up. it is her front left leg.

The picture is not between the brackets mate.

I'm sure you did your best being gentle, but the soil they were on spoiled a lot before she even got to deliver the scorplings..

So dont feel bad about it. Better luck next time. Put her on some moist dirt with cocofibre. Lots of hides, humid and hot.. SHe will get better.

Does it keep leaking clear fluids?
If not, leave it be... if it does then you can hope it stops bleeding or superglue it.

The animal has gone through a lot now, better to leave it alone. The soil is good now by the way! Nice work.

See how it evolves but I wouldnt think about mating her like this Chin Scratch

I'd say to leave both alone for some time... I understand you want to breed some and fast, gestation takes quite some time too.

So if you really want to see some mating.. you should leave this one to relax a bit.
Buy a new adult female and put that new female in a new enclosure with the male.

I would not kill this girl or abandon it, since it has a good chance of survival. Just not the time to put her at work now.

Gestation for an Emperor Scorpion can range from 9 - 12 Months so it'd be a bit of a wait. I know your pain but don't feel so bad. You may get another chance. You can get another Female if you'd like but make sure to introduce them properly. She may heal up and then she may not, she could even lose the leg. Even with one missing leg, she might be fine and act like a perfectly normal Emp.

If it seems like she suffering, you can euthanize her. I don't remember who exactly but someone on this forum had a method of putting it in boiling water to kill it quick. But only do this if you think shes just living in horribly and barely holding on. I think she'll pull through just fine. t sucks for a first timer to have this happen too, but don't be discouraged. Just know that you really can't trust shops unless these kind of things are their specialty.

I think she will be fine but have not seen her eat in quite awhile... how often should I feed them? I throw a few crickets in every couple days but want to start feeding mealworms. She has been protecting that leg with her pincher yet seems to be well mobile... I am going to buy another large terrerium and move my male and another female to it. Is it safe to introduce another female to her so she has some accompaniment?

I bet Adriana is stuffed atm (on the picture she looks fine though)..

I think adult Emps only need 2 crickets every 1-2 weeks?
You can just get a large tank and put all together.. even the new female and leave the male at it.

Just watch out they dont cannibalize the temporarily weaker sister.

So should I just transfer her to the tank I bought for the scorplins? I just don't know how long to seperate her. She is drastically larger than my male and seems to fend for herself quite well and is very mobile but still super irritable.

I have als noticed she consumes a lot of water as well as appears to bathe herself pretty frequently is that normal?

About how big should my tank be? And ill take pics of my setup so as to aquire some pointers from those skilled in this area.

If you only have two or three adults, a ten-gallon tank is fine.

Regarding feeding, you don't need to put in crickets that frequently. They'll eat until they're stuffed and then suddenly fast, which tends to make new hobbyists panic. Also, avoid mealworms as full-time prey; they're fattier than crickets. If you want to change it up you can try offering cockroaches (they stink less than crickets but are a little trickier for scorps to catch).

most have, that is the reason why i cant feed mine roaches. I'd love to though.
If it takes and eats it everytime it is a good feeding habit!

My andro kill it, and leave it when they're full. Sometimes I find entire cricket arses in the corners.

Scorpions are messy eaters compared to spiders!
