baby emperor scorpions?

hey all im brand new to this forum and ive got a question?
so i just recently bought two emps, brand new to scorpions, and my female, ruby, gave birth. there are about 12 maybe more and they just started crawling around under the hide near the opening. so my question is when should i remove them to the custom tank im building for the little ones? ill post pics soon thanks all

There are people here who are much more acknowledged and experienced on P. Imperators and familiar, huge scorpids like that.

However, some basics stay the same. So here goes..

It is usually a good idea to separate the scorplings when they leave the mother (they prolly/usually molted to 2i already if they decide to fetch for their own). If you dont, they might cannibalize each other, or get eaten by other adult specimen.

In your case, you said they already left the mom, so now is the time. House them like the adults, much smaller though so they can find there food easier. Housing them separately also gives you the ability to keep an eye on individual feeding.

They feed more than adult scorpions, so keep them well fed, moist and warm.

Good luck with them, they might look tiny.. but they are tougher than you think.

on a side note: Emps are communal, so I dont know if you HAVE to separate this species. I do know monitoring their eating habits IS easier when they are separated, so I'd do it anyway.

Congratulations on the new batch. I'm nurturing 16 baby emperors in 10 gallon enclosure and this would be my 3rd batch of babies.

If they're are NOT off the mothers back, don't mess with them AT ALL leave her be.

The babies will prefer a more humid and hotter environment so keep the substrate well moist.

The babies will come off on their own in a range of a week or 2. When they do come off, SEPARATE them. Emperor's are cannibalistic and will eat the babies.

For the new tank, keep it well moist and well warm and plenty of hides.

The mother will do most that is need while they are in her care and the babies will do the rest when they get off. Keep them well fed and conditions correct.

Casualties happen! Some might and will die, the mom will likely eat a few and this is natural. Out of the 20 from my last batch 18 survived. (I've sold 2).
