PostSubject: Habitat Pics   4/21/2011, 12:09 pm

Just in case you guys were curious about where I caught the alligator lizard, the striped shore crabs, and the blue bellied lizards, here are pics of there habitat:

Here's a walkthrough of their habitat areas and where the animals were found:
I'm walking down the pathway to head to the beach

Beach on right, school buildings on left:

Just a pic in the direction of the school buildings:

Down the stairs I go:

Beach on right, man-made lagoon on left and "island" in the middle of the two:

Better pic of the lagoon surrounding the piece of land and to the left is my school's bell/clock tower:

I've reached the beach's shoreline:

I decide to go toward the beach on the right side and leave the "island" for later:

I spot some cool looking boulders on the beach, covered in algae:

I come to the little oasis pool where the shore crabs hide:

Managed to pull this strange looking shellfish off the rocks in the little pool:

Mussels covered pretty much all areas of the shore rocks:

I decided to go to the "island" and look around for some lizards, so I head around:

Lagoon waters on right:

More lagoon waters:

I come up to a few large pieces of a fallen tree:

I take a look and this is where I found the alligator lizard by sheer luck:

Managed to snap this beetle before it scurried away:

Well, that's pretty much it to the situ pics.

Real nice mate. What a place to have on your doorstep! Probably the best looking rock pool I've ever seen. No native scorps around there?

I like the last pic of the beetle, give a good sense of speed and movement.

JamieLawrence: Yes, it is quite a beautiful place Smile Unfortunately no scorpions that I can find! I agree about the beetle pic. I just snapped it while it sped by and got a pretty bizarre looking pic.

Bedlam & Manser: Thanks a lot guys!

Scorpioooo: it's not obvious for me either lol I guess that's because I have done 0 research on beetles Smile

Bex: hahaha yup, it's a nice place to go to school at and I need to keep myself from taking it for granted. And I've gotta say, when I looked at the beetle pic after I snapped it, I was wondering how the heck I did that lol
