I've had my female emperor for about a month now. I noticed a little black spot on a side of her stinger.

possible mycosis? Scorpiontail

It looks like its almost painted onto her tail. From the pictures I've found on google mycosis looks like its growing out of the spot like some type of fungus.

Had no idea they were prone to this. Can't really tell by your image either.

Hi Vin Bro,

Understand it'll be tough to get a gd shot on the tail part.

As you know, usually forest scorps deals with mites prob and mycosis is a challenge for deserts.

Hmnn.. if i'm not wrong, it might be kind of dirt/stain and does not really cause a health issue to your emp Smile

Thanks GS your knowledge is really amazing! I thought it was a stain or something also, but I just wanted to make sure.

Seeing how a lot of emperors submerge themselves in water a lot I dont see a emperor getting mycosis .

Mycosis is more prone to desert species especially the Desert hairy, even in the wild they have a bit of mycosis on them. and its due to too much humdity/moisture then they are used to.

Other then the regular info that can be "googled" or referred to by fellow hobbist, most often, we can benefit much by sharing the individual experience we each went through in this fun hobby.

I believe most of the time when we post certain questions pertaining to our scorps, we already had a rough idea what might be the issue/cause. We just need assurance at times.

I've still got much to learn from everyone, including you my friend Smile
