| i got my desert hairy a week ago . he is fairly small. i placed two mealworms inside. when i woke up the next day they were gone. same day i put a cricket in i went to the kitchen, came back and saw that he was already chewing on it. i dont know why but i placed another 3 mealworms inside and they were also gone the next morningl. my question is should i have food in there all the time and he will regulate his own meals or do i have to feed it weekly a fixed amount. how much food should i give him per week.i also want to know if they get fat like emperors or is their metabolims faster since they are much more active than emps? | I made the mistake of daily feeding.
Now he's a fat heffer, so he's on a diet.
So no, I'd say feed him one large cricket every two weeks. | |

| they are not all more active than emps lol ours hasn't fed or come out of its burrow for well over a month now, yet our emp is out everynight without fail i would aim for feeding 3 times a week or every other day | |
