Cool, man.

Do you plan on feeding them fruit flies? I've never kept any mantids myself.

Eight more babies born today. We now have over thirty little guys out of just the first egg sac.

Hahaha. I'd love to start Mantis-Farming, but 30 in 1 sac is so intense and impressive it's stupid. I thought you were only suspected to get 10-15 from a sac.

I think, you sir, got a very, very good one! Congrats and Enjoy mate!

No man thirty to 50 is average for me with M. religiosa. In a good ootheca i get 60-100 somethimes. So far the ootheca has hatched nearly sixty nymphs. Its been a few days since i last posted in this thread.

I stand corrected, and am very impressed.

How many do you generally have survive to reach adulthood?

Very few unfortunately. Ive raised thousands of mantids but ive only successfully breeded adults that ive raised a handfull of times. Their mortality rate is extremely high. It is a very challenging and often times emotionally trying job to try to get these guys within there optimal growth parameters. In my opinion mantises are among the hardest terrestrial arthropods to care for correctly.
