it'd probably spend more time in his/her hide during this time... a protection against the vulnerability faced during molting..
you could probably bump up the humidity abit more if you suspect its a molt.

Probly not, I know a guy with 1000+ scorps in the phillipines that keeps some outside even.

Yeah, I'd be more concerned about the humidity if you have any arid species than anything else, you could probably just leave them at your ambient temps and humidity, unless you have air conditioning on all the time Smile Good luck, I'm also +1 on the premolt tips and am not sure of anything other than getting fat, and seeing the plates separate on it's body and also the eating.

Can go weeks, but don't worry! Your scorpion can easily go months without eating and it wont harm it!

Well, it sounds like pre-molt to me (or pregnant if it's an adult)! If it's sick there ain't really anything you can do, so relax and wait and see Wink

Two weeks might be a bit exaggerated, but I would say 4-7 days...

Best way to know if it's safe to feed is if your scorp fully fluoresces under a blacklight again.

A better sign of premolt than just "fat and lazy" (which many adult scorpions will go through periods of, despite not being able to molt again) is when you can see through the intersegmental membrane to new tergites developing underneath.

Well has she removed it from the tunnel? Is it on top of the substrate or inside the tunnel?

If it is the later I wouldn't race to dig it out of the burrow, more than likely she will remove it herself as they will usually keep their burrows clean.

If it is on top of the substrate you won't have immediate issues but I'd remove it as anything decomposing could attract unwanted tank mates; scuttle bugs, mites or others. I'd stress less if you have some potato bugs or pill bugs of some sort, aka; isopods. But I'd still recommend removing it to be safe.

Congrats on the successful molt Very Happy I just had my first failed molt Sad Found a baby H. Spinigerus half molted and dead Sad first loss to a molt.

Must post pix now as all scorpions seem to look amazing right after a molt Very Happy
