| These kind of things just bug the hell out of me for some reason, and it feels like I'm seeing more and more of them.
-- Calling them "black emps." As opposed to the purple variety? Sure, there's P. cavimanus, but I've only ever heard those called "red claws" and never "red emps."
-- Spelling it "emporer" or "scorpian" Both of these make me want to hit my head on the wall -- I was corresponding with a teacher once about a bug-related outreach, and no matter how many times I spelled it "scorpion" and changed the spelling in her replies, she STILL kept spelling it that way!
-- "OMG my emp had babi3s what now?!?!"
-- Seeing forest scorpions kept on sand This irritates me more in the media than it does with naive keepers, because then it just perpetuates misinformation
/rant
Anyone else have something that ticks them off when keeping scorpions?
(it feels kinda good to get this off my chest)

| My usual response is "no, you can eat them."
What's worse is when people see me handling my gigantic Heterometrus of awesome and automatically think it's been de-venomized.

| i get this responce of, why would you or anyone keep things or even like them My responce is, Do you like dogs, they say yeah of course i do, who don't, i say i like them for the similar reason why you like and have dogs
I also had this comment before, How do you sleep at night with all of those in your house. My responce is, same as you do at night.
Ask this before, are you married, i say no, they say, i was why, my responce is afet that, BUT, i am engaged to the same female i had been with for 11yrs now and we have 1 child and 1 one the way.
here is a good one in my opinion Normal people have animals like dogs or cats my responce to that was " I guess i am half normal for i have 3 cats "

| A directly quoted conversation from today:
"Have you ever been stung?"
"Once."
"Did you die... Well I guess you didn't die, you're still here."

| Luckily I've only been stung by H. paucidens, so I can tell them it didn't hurt at all . . . as I offer them my A. mauritanicus. (That last part was a joke.) | |
