What's this?!

So I was at the Berks show today (I'll post pics of what I got later) browsing stands with inverts. I come to one with a bunch of Leopard geckos and some scorpions. Well towards the back of the display is three unmarked deli cups which none of the operators knew what to label. They were listed as "Hot" so I figured I'd take a look. They told me they came in with some Scorpio maruses. Figuring I could probably get it down to a genus I decided to help them out. What do I behold in 3 unmarked cups?

Three, fairly small, Leiurus quinquestriatus. Omg... I made it a point to show them the identifying features but it was still a bit disconcerting. They had larger clearly marked deathstalkers so I had no idea how they didn't know.

This was almost as disconcerting as the guy selling illegal walking sticks. Not to say I wasn't dying to buy a pair but by that point I didn't have $60 to drop.

Oh . . . wow . . . these guys need to get a lot better at knowing what they're selling.

i whent to a shop in Denmark yesterday and saw they had this really overpriced scorpion, but it didnt have any ID on it.. so me and my friend was looking at it.. and to me it looked like a Hottentotta sp, and my mate asked them what it was.. they told me it was a flatrock well a Hadogenes sp.. i pointed out that that wasnt a Hadogenes, then i was told that there was alot of Hadogenes sp and He knew it was a flatrock and what did i know..
i didnt want to tell the dude that i have the secound largste scorpion collection in my country and i didnt want to get into a bigger discussion about the overpriced scorp.. but here is the best part.. Hottentottas is illgal in Denmark

have to agree with mike, that is sad...people do need to know what that are selling cuz something serious could of happened due to not knowing how hot that scorpions could be

You should try to get it cheap and be happy with a nice scorpion bought legaly

The problem is he keeps thinking its a flatrock and he dont want to think i know more about scorpions then he does.. hehe so its kinda hard to get him to sell it cheap..
