Though i haven had one.. I strongly believe they are "stingers" It's probably the same with most scorpions that has small chelas, as compared to forest scorpions such as Emps or H. Spinifers. I would love to have this too. Nice choice mate!

hahaz.. though it not a usual thing for them to sting but i've seen it on youtube too. On the same note, I was surprise to see my Liocheles Waigiensis uses her tiny sting to subdue her prey as well.. lolz I believe you are on the right track (ample space/hides/food.. ideal conditions) if you wish to house them communally. Perhaps peeps who has kept these beautiful species can give more insights. Btw, how many of them are you planning to get for a communal setup?

| Oh hell, even the ridiculously-weak-venomed Hadogenes paucidens will use its sting . . . also, if I recall, Hadrurus spp. have been suggested to you, which I was under the impression were fairly easy to find in the UK.
See if you can find some Euscorpis spp. -- I've had Uroctonus mordax (a remarkably similar species) that unquestioningly stings its prey.

| The V. confusus are 3" total length, metasoma stretched out. I'm fairly certain they're communal if you keep them well fed. Your set up sounds fine for them, they're fun scorps.
I think that mine used their stingers as well.

| But seriousely, you shouldn't underestimate searching in other countries aswell (as I wrote a couple of times before lol)! I've just started searching in germany for scorpions and I'm overwhelmed with what people there are willing to ship for no money! They have EVERYTHING! Foreksample I just ordered 0.0.6 Androctonus Australis for 7,5€ a piece! And it's 17€ shipping all over europe I think! |
