These are my 2 young emp's, not sure about the sex of them, if anyone could assist in sexing them it'll be great, the pic isn't great they are about 2 inch long.



This my setup, plan to add another 2/3 young emp's in the next few weeks.

This was the first emp i bought, I believe it was a male, he molted within a month of purchasing him, as at first where he was so fat I thought he was a she and she was pregnant. unfortunatley he died within 6 months.

the only thing that creeps me out is, back in high school i dated a girl named mallory...
still two good lookin emps regardless of name...
if you want them sexed, you have to take a good quality clear pic of the pectines. (the feather-ish looking things underneath)
the operculum in between is the real and easiest to determine way of sexing emperors

When I manage to catch them i'll try and take a closer pick, as soon as the viv door opens there gone down their burrow.

Another way to sex them is if there's a dent in the claws its a male, a pronounce tooth on the bottom part of the claw is also a male, the pectines are also a way to tell. Also females are bigger than males, the one your holding seems to not be an adult, looks like a juvi female, if it died it would probably be because of a botched molt. I've have juvi emps die from it as well, it happens.
