I was thinking the same thing. It looks pretty tight in there.

They are together since birth?
I have one gravid female baking, would like2 try out communal setup
The last time my fren did it end up in cannibalism, but they are separated since birth and only putting them together when they reach 3i

I wouldn't recommend putting them together unless they're all adults.

Nice scorps! Sadly Hottentotts Spp. is illegal to keep in denmark along with lots of other very cool scorpions.
How big is the enclosure (wide and deep)? Looks kind of crowded! Dont think they'll thrive so many together...

those are not to bad about it.
as long as they are kept well fed theres not realy too big of an issue with them eating each other

and after 4th instar there not as likely to go for cannibalism

just my experience input

From reading I agree with Telow.

I also have a small colony of Hottentotta Trilineatus, 5 adults and currently 7 2i. I am waiting for the 2i to mature and then I'll introduce them to the colony. From what I've ready HT is very similiar to Hottentotta Hottentotta, just the Eastern version to it's Western counterpart (please correct me if that is wrong as I like to get my facts straight) and from the research I've done in choosing HT's I found that both HT and HH are really great communal species so they should be alright both A. living communally and B. dealing with some potential crowding although if crowding can be avoided it is probably better for both a safety measure and for the scorps stress levels. For anyone not having a communal set up already the main things being having enough hides per number of scorpions (more than 1 per scorpion to avoid any territorial squabbles) and ample feeding which should be a given whether the scorp is alone or in a communal set up.
I definitely like HH as much as I like my HT's, beautiful scorps!

Yea, I have about 24 H.caboverdensis that I house seperately atm except about 4 or 5 are together because I ran out of compartments. I did it because I saw one being cannabalized and just figured screw this, I aint losing more so i'll be putting em back together at 4i minimum.

I thought for a moment about just leaving the babies in with the adults as I never new I had a gravid one. Wasn't 100% if they were fully mature, I posted some pictures up on here asking if it was fat or gravid and got feed back that it was pre-molt Very Happy. I never new for sure if I had a gravid one and when she popped she stayed hidden until I noticed a baby running around at least 2i. They are significantly bigger than the H/V Spin 2i's so I don't know how long they were in there. There were 8 I found and it looked like the adults were dropping off freshly killed prey for the babies for a while. If my communal set up gets too big I may let it go all natural, but as for now, I just took them all out and will keep them separate until they are fully mature.

Will you put the 4i together with each other or in with the adults at that point?

I was half tempted to leave my H/V Spin babies together (without moms of course) as they are supposed to be arguably communal but decided against it in the end. I will be getting rid of almost all of those and will probably move the HT's to a 20 gal when I integrate the babies with the adults. Would like to get a few communals going and get them into 40 gal breeders at some point, I figure that would make for killer displays!!
