To avoid another incident, you can invest in a blacklight.
You can use the blacklight at night to search for the scorpions (the blacklight makes them "glow") and then get rid of them however you want.

baking soda on a wet cloth works, treat it like a bee sting, venom works basically the same way for most scorpions.
