My scorpion is gravid and I don't know what to do (read before you judge)

Hi everyone. This is my first post. I have had an emperor scorpion in the past and really enjoyed him. I will tell you how the story came about. I got a deal from a girl on craigslist who's fiance left her with all her animals. Well she said she around 25 tarantulas so i didn't get a chance to look into all the cages there so I got them. I expected to see another tarantula when I found a scorpion that was already really fat. This surprised me because they already managed to kill another scorpion. The scorpion would not eat for me and got a lot fatter. I posted in the scorpion sub section in my tarantula forum but they didn't give me the answers I was looking for so I came to you guys. I need to know basically what is all needed for the care of baby scorpions. Also if anyone can tell me what kind of scorpion I have that would be great! Thanks

i think you have a juvenile scorpion...
and i think its in pre-molt

as for what it is...
im gonna guess Pandinus something...
only because of the bulbous-ness (i dont know if thats even a word lol) of the pincher...
i could be wrong

they said that until i posted the pics from a little while ago she hasn't eaten since I got her

i dont know dude...now that i see that 3rd pic, its definitely not anything pandinus ive ever seen...

maybe it is an adult??

Looks like a scorpio maurus sp to me.

I don't know how to tell whether a scorp of this species is mature or not, but it looks like its either gravid or in pre-molt.

Scorps will fast if they have previously gorged themselves. They will also fast prior to molting as well giving birth. When they do fast, they can do so for weeks/months at a time.

Just keep an eye on it, offer a food item every 4 days or so. If it refuses the item, remove it and try again four days later.

Edit: The fact that it got fatter even when you weren't feeding it tends to imply gravid. However, in the last pic it doesn't look as fat.

can you see any embryos against the skin?
if its gravid and that big eventually youll see white embryos against the skin

the reason it doesn't look fat in the last pic is because that is a pic of when I got her which I guess would be around 2 months ago. She has gotten a lot fatter with no food at all

Well that tends to imply gravid. You can also see the "black chord" is raised (heart) and clearly visible which also tends to suggest heavy gravidity.

I actually think it's an Opistophthalmus sp.

how is the care for the scorplings?
