I'd agree with the texture, but if it's a blue green in the light isn't that a characteristic of an H. Spin? I thought Emps were jet black?

I'm a noob but that was my understanding, just my 2 cents, I wouldn't take my word for it.

no some emps exhibit that blue-ish color youre thinking of too, it just has to be in really bright light...
ive seen it in mine one time, i took one of my females to the window cause i thought i saw something crawling on it, turns out my eyes were playing tricks on me...but while i had her in the sunlight, she didnt look so black...

another reason i said emp is because of how smooth the carapace is...
if i remember right, AFS have some kind of granulation on the carapace where emperors dont

Id go with emperor because from the angle of the photo, it doesnt have elongated pedipalps like the Asian Forests do.

That looks to be an Emperor.

The colors definitley change out to a bluish-green color after long stay-in the dark or just the adequate amount of light it recieves.

Depends, It happens to my Emperor as well. Funky but cool.

Emperor: Claws and texture, color is a dark black, in the light its bluish-Green and then naturally turns back to dark black/brown.

the tail section is where it really gives off the emperor genes. the tail is so rigid and detailed, and its concave is set in deep where it forms a nice rigid outline all the way up to the telson that has a unusual curviture on the point of the stinger. thats what i notice about emperors compared to every other species. Wink

EMP.... shape of the carapace is another indicator. No prominent post-ocular indentitions.
