I found Sub-Zero (its name) underneath a pile of dirty laundry at my boyfriends house up in the Santa Cruz mountains. I have done a little research online and I think that he/she is either A) pregnant B) extremely obese C) Uroctonus mordax mordax?

She/he was this girthy and large when I found em. And I haven't really seen it eat much but the crickets are being murdered. I'm sort of afraid of handling it because she seems sort of aggresive (which is common with pregnant females right?).

Here are a few photos of his/her top and underside. I tried to get a shot of its pectines but they didn't come out so clear.

Any suggestions for a first time owner? Temperature? Ideal living situation? What type is this? Male/female? Obese? If pregnant, how long till she gives birth?

please refer back to your original post as I put up a nice site that has all the care requirements.

And yes, definitely don't handle it if it's acting like that.
Your setup so far looks fine by me but I have never kept this species, I only know that they are a forest sp.

I am also not 100%, but it appears to be a female as the tergites are "glossy."
I don't know if it's an adult, but being gravid is a possibility, but so is pre-molt.

Without a size comparison it's hard to say for sure, but I'm gonna vote for gravid female. The populations in western Oregon seem to give birth in late summer / early fall.

Let me clarify: female = definitely; gravid = possibly.
