PostSubject: Gravid transvaalicus   Gravid transvaalicus Empty5/18/2010, 1:43 am

Ok here it is.. My 4 months gravid transvaalicus stopped eating since saturday what does it mean? I think it's too early that she wil pop and the gestation period is less than year right? Last Friday I met a friend and he said that he knew someone owned also a p.transvaalicus and gave birth after 6 months but There are rumors after 4 months it will pop.. He also said that his p.transvaalicus wants to get herself in the water dish.. It's that ok? I mean transvaalicus is a dry specie right?? Feel free to answer.. Thanks Smile

Best bet is to just wait and see, and try not to disturb her too much.

Give her access to moisture, but I wouldn't suggest a water dish -- just mist one corner of the enclosure.

Generally, no, as scorps don't molt after maturity and they must be mature to breed.

However, a few species are known to have females reach sexual maturity one instar before their final molt and carry a brood -- I know of B. jacksoni to be on that list, but I don't know about any Parabuthus spp.
