| Right, so I got my first scorpion just the other day (Emperor), and I got a single male. I'm thinking of getting a female in a few months time if I'm doing ok with this one. Would this work, or would I have to buy them together? I understand on the amount of room needed and available hides, I was just wondering on a territory basis?
Cheers | |

| make sure the scorps are pretty close is size and rearange the enclosure and mix up the substrate a bit before putting both scorps in and you should have no problems. make it seem like a new area to both scorps so there is no territorial dispute. | |

agree make sure they both think its an entirely new place, switch it up, or add something or even take one or two hides out and replace them if you want, this way it really is a new place for them.
also always make sure there are one or two more hides in the cage than there are scorps so they always have an alternate place to go.
goods lucks =) | |

| You can add another one at a later date yes. When you do this, remove all scorps from the enclosure, mix up the substrate and change around the hides before putting the two scorps in together at the same time.
Ensure you have at least 2 hides per scorp.

| Whenever I introduced a new scorp I would replace the substrate entirely and wash all of the decor off. But that's just me ... I haven't tried it the other way, so I'm not entirely sure of the outcome. Good luck! | |

| when i added my second female emperor, i just layed down another 3 inches of substrate in the tank, washed all the rocks, completely re did all the caves and even moved the rocks and geodes around to different areas...
if i get another, im just gonna take everything out and redo the entire tank and redo the false bottom, my substrate is way too soaked for my liking...next time im not putting no where near that much water as i have now...

| I'm new to the hobby as well Robertson. The Emperor's a great start, I have several species and the Emp is still one of my favorites. | |

| When I added my female ( couple months after male ) I just mixed it up a little, rearranged tiny bit...destroyed his burrow. They had some pretty intense fights ( There is a a video somewhere around ), but now they live together and are very happy Welcome to the hobby. | |
