Stepping out of the Scorp scene for a while

Hey all....

yeah.....

How do I explain this ?

Pandinus and Hadogenes are simply....... boring.

I could have let them loose in my area had I really wanted. Yet I know they would not survive. So my two scorps are being donated to the Montréal Insectarium. I will focus more on Tarantulas from here on. Already expecting a Curly Hair (B. albopilosum), Red Rump (B. vagans) and a Chaco (G. pulchripes) to supplement my G. rosea and B. bohemei.

I will get back into the Scorps when I can afford my own appartment. Until then..... these 5 Tarantulas will keep me plenty busy.

I see you have an H. arizonensis, I tried many months trying to get one but no luck, so I gave up. Had I been able to get one, I would have kept that one at the very least.

So I switched my order... Brachys and Grammys aren't that exciting despite the fact they are very pretty to look at. So I chose Ts with more activity and attitudes.

Ceratogyrus darlingi (East African Horned Baboon)

I've been told these guys are nowhere near as nasty as the infamous OBT, so I decided to give at least one Old World species a chance.

Cyclosternum fasciatum (Costa Rican Tiger Rump)

This is like the "humid" cousin of the beautiful Green Bottle Blue. Not as colorful as a GBB, but pretty nonetheless and it seems they are great webbers.

Lasiodora parahybana (Brazillian Salmon Pink Birdeater)

Why get a T. blondi when I can get something a whole lot hardier, prettier and less of a pet hole ? Speedy growth, great appetite were enough to get me to buy one, considering slings are dirt cheap.

The moment I get back into scorps, I'm diving straight in with B. jacksoni and Androctonus. Tho that won't happen for a few years and I can only hope I'll keep learning good husbandry practices with my various Ts.
