PostSubject: Emp molting question   3/18/2010, 4:33 pm

Our Emperor scorp started molting some time in the night and looks really odd to me still today. Her body is mostly all the way out, but her front claws are still bent under her body and don't seem like they are coming out. I almost thought that they had come off even. She looks to be in a very uncomfortable position and doesn't seem to be moving very well out of her old skin.

Her habitat is plenty humid and warm. She was very healthy and normal up to this point.

How long will this go on? And it is possible that her claws are stuck in there and won't come out??

Thanks!!!

That just sounds like molting to me. Leave her for a bit, and see how she is later.

So, OP, how did this turn out?? They usually look oddly bent during the event, which can last several hours . . . did the molt go ok?

She died within a few days. Her pedipalps never came out, nor did her telson. Sad It was very sad, but we had another one that molted a few weeks later and came through just fine. Smile

Fasting is normal, but please post unrelated questions in a new thread.
