 playground sand?

Would it be safe to use playground sand for scorpions? The prices have gone up on the sand around here and i realized i can a lot of playground sand for a much lower price.

you should nuke it in the microwave or cook the sand in the oven for a while before you put it in to try and get rid of any parasitic mites that might be living in it. very tricky to remove once there on your scorp.

Yes play sand is fine. I use it for all of my desert species. It is designed for kids so it is well cleaned and filtered.
