| So I bought a female scorp on jan. 7. I do want to say shes under than a year old. Her telson is creamy ish colour. She did refuse food when I offered her and she didnt like to move much at all. Today I went the store to grab her a partner (mate) and got a bigger tank. As I was setting the bigger tank up. I went and picked her up and only to find out she was not moving at all. I placed her on my hand thinking she would move but she didn't. I tried smelling her for any bad odour, but I didn't notice any. Could she be dead or she's in a molting process? I hate to see her die. I just got her. I'm going to cry. This is really hurting me so much. I never thought I'd be hurt (emotionally not physically) by a scorpion. |

| she might be molting, and due to you stressing her out and holding her or whatever, she could die from the molt. COULD. wasn't a good idea to do so. wait a week. |

| i think she is dead, when I went near her and try to smell, she does stink. They wouldn't stink when they are in a molting process would they? I'm just seeking a sign of hope that she is still alive. If not, I'll have a burial in my backyard. |

| It might sound abit harsh but the only way to check is to try make her move, i know people might disagree cause of stressing her out, but really i imagen you might prefer piece of mind atleast knowing for sure if shes alive or not, if she has died then we can try help you with whats gone wrong |

| If a scorp is dead, usually its tail will be straight out behind it and it will not be moving. Not moving while tail is curled = still alive.
And I don't know what your goal is with an autopsy, so I can't really help you there, though freezing or placing in high-concentration alcohol (above 70%) is the best way to preserve it for the time being. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blog Be nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |
