I now have quite a collection, and would like to focus more on breeding species that are rarely captive bred for trading and redistribution. What would be some species to focus on?

Gigas, P.Militaris, H. spadix, a more African desert species come to mind, and possibly south American scorps? I wish to focus on species no higher than a 3 on a scale of 1-5 for venom. Anything you wish was more commonly CB?

I currently have

Desert Hairy 0.0.2
P. militarus 0.0.1
Emperors 1.2.0
Mordax 1.1.0
B. jacksoni 0.2.28 LOL way too many.

I know that this isn't relevant to your question ... BUT ...

You can never have too many B. jacksoni! Very Happy

Haha, you the man. So true. So many containers bro! I wish they were all full adults. Will they always sell well if the price is right?

They are cute, and often interesting.. However, they are much less active then a desert hairy. In fact, I might give them the "pet hole" label. They are communal and pretty though, and easy to breed.

Mordax are often visable and very cute, but wow are they small.

lol
yeah i'm torn between jacksoni and mordax
reptile convention in columbus this weekend, i live 5 mins away, hope they have scorps

in addition, i dont want any more pet holes, my emps were active as hell for the first week, now even the curious and fun male is just bleh and curled up. :/ i knew this when buying emps its just i thought he'd be different.

If you are poorly behaved, you might come back with both! Yes, pet holes are to be avoided. Although, respect is due to the animal... I still like them. jacksoni aren't that bad, they will come out to find more moisture etc. and are aggressive feeders. IF you don't disturb them when you are opening the container.

I want to exploit what we often complain about, and try to breed a few that are only imported.

i would say more communal with caution. even with frequent feeding and sufficent hides, cannablisim still happens in young B. jacksoni and B. gigas. i recently lost a few due to this and have sence seperated them. they are 3i but i plan on reintroducing them when they are older.

there are several accounts of this.....not just my own.

Ive been out of the hobby for a few years so if im wrong forgive me. But how about Brotheas granulatus or Rhopalurus laticauda. I have not seen many for sale or trade.

Rhopalurus laticauda is really sharp looking. It is amazing going through pictures of south american species how many look like African species! There were so many that looked like emperors or B. jacksoni.
