| Assuming a scorpion nut doesn't have access to swaps and shows, or doesn't field collect down south, is there a better time of the year to buy? I just did overnight due to the weather, but do regular mail shipping deals ever pop up during the summer? How do you guys buy/trade with each other, when somebody just posts that one of their scorps have popped?
Assuming you were going to gather different species over time, and one dealer didn't have everything you wanted.. several shipments become expensive. I remember at the old reptile shows, things were much cheaper. I wouldn't mind gathering fragile scorplings, grow them up and move them along in the hobby or breed.
Btw, did you see those idiots on youtube licking handfuls of desert hairys? Beautiful scorpions, stung the idiots right in the face.

| No idea on when to buy, but I'm sure these guys take great precautions to get your order alive if you buy them from dealers or breeders on this forum, hot or cold weather. I have seen a post on packaging scorps for shipping and scorps are tough little critters. As for the vid, wasn't it great !!! Too bad he didn't get stung in the tounge more, but I doubt he'd of learned any lesson anyway ! | |

| Garanteed live arrival is usually desired. The only precautions i take weather wise, is precisley what time of year it is. If it is winter months or very cold weather in recent days, i do not like to buy/sell in case there are postal troubles and the scorps are therefore stuck, not going anywhere, without warmth. Apart from that, i'm sure we can give you details of where we buy our scorps from if you ask. Also, remember to state your location. Hope this helps | |

| I've shipped scorpions in January to Idaho and they made it just fine. In winter months most buyers give the option of including a 48-hour heat pack.
I'm more worried about shipping in summer because I live in an apartment complex with metal mailboxes hanging out in the sun.
