 Roaches as feeders in Canada

My apologies if this has already came up, did a really quick search and could not find a thread dedicated to this...

Why are roaches not available in Canada to feed reptiles/arachnids ? I've heard that they were made illegal for fear of "invasion"... but is there more to it than that ?

Just wondering, because crickets can be a pain to deal with at times.

pretty sure they arent illegal here, just no one wants to deal with them so you gotta order online somewhere.
