From a limited experience I would keep them separate in like a deli container type. The substrate is perfect as it maintains the moisture levels. They can be kept in groups of three or more, like Emperor Scorpions, if provided with enough food, but that is not recommended.

When I use the deli type containers, I put a light over top with a 60 watt "red" bulb with a dimmer switch pre-installed.

Besides that there could be differences in how well the different species could be communal, the best result for keeping them together(for what I know) is when they are put together right from the birth.I have 4 H. scaber in a communal setup (box 20x20cm) They are now 3in and 2cm with tail and seems going well together at least for now Very Happy
I dont have much experience with the Heterometrus sp. yet but I dont think your 30x30 (smaller would be better) would be TOO big.Just prekill the prey and be sure they both gets to eat.And lookout for aggressions.
There are allways a chance for cannibalisme even within the best known communal scorps sp. but when its a succes its a huge thrill. At least IMO Wink

Regards

I think a 30cm cube would be a tad on the large side. Yes, eco-earth is the right stuff to use. I also don't see any problem with keeping them together, but since cannibalism does happen from time to time (I lost two out of 10 Heterometrus longimanus), then it may be a good idea to separate as you're starting with only two specimens.

And if you're ordering babies that small, odds are they came from the same brood, so they may have already been together at birth. Smile

I house 2 juvi emperor scorpions together without a problem since they are from the same brood, they do just fine. If you only have one tank or are tight on room I wouldn't see any problem with putting 2 asian forest scorpions together since pandinus and heterometrus are really close with how they act and their tendencies.
