PostSubject: Brood no.3   9/4/2009, 3:57 am

feeding the scorpions last night and the Iurus dufoureius asiaticus 'Rhodes Island form' Has given birth

I spotted 3 very fat round babies. I'm not expecting a very large brood because this species are sexually active before their last instar and the female looks small. However if she has only had 3 I'm still pleased to bits.

pictures (if poss) to follow

Holy mother of [deity of choice]! Shocked I didn't think that would be physically possible!

Lori postulated the idea of embryonic cannibalism. Hmm . . . Chin Scratch

With such huge babies and an accessible burrow, I caught a picture I have been waiting 11 years to capture.

I have never witnessed the moult from scorpling to 2i. Today I saw it. Usually mum is buried in a burrow and I never get chance to see it

2 of the 4 babies have moulted and a third is nearly out
