| I do private animal & bird rescue & I have people come into my home to do tours, adopt, to do classes I provide or just hang out. Some people that come here are not aware that I have tarantulas or scorpions & have quite a phobia about them. I have no gift for wordage & Im going to have a sign made to place outside my front door to let people know I have them here. Anyone have some words or phrases I can use? Kim |

| "Caution: Arachnid Crossing"
We just have a metal cutout of a tarantula that says "Welcome" under it. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blog Be nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |

| Scorpions and turantulas are in this house.
If they have phobias but keep coming, i assume they dont see your scorps or T's?
Anyways if your making a sign, dont put any red or bright colours on it, dont make the letters too big or bold, dont have a huge scary picture, and dont use the words "warning" or "caution" Something like.... "Attention For those with phobias or discomfort for arachnids, please be aware that the owner keeps both scorpions and turantulas on the premises."
and maybe "for those who wish to avoid thes animals.. please use.... **insert way in etc**" |

My bird room has my rats, birds & inverts. The inverts are the first animal you come to. The side of the cabinet (of which we made from wood that my husbands grandfather milled when he was working in the early 40s) is not facing people when they come into my bird room, its sitting in profile. They pass the front of it on their right side. Kim |

| I did get 2 6x6 inch black & white stop type signs made saying "Tarantula at play" & the same for scorpions. For the ideas on this forum & others I belong to, Ive actually decided to to use all of them. I copied & pasted them on wordpad & then printed them out & got them laminated. Thank you everyone! Kim |

| I just thought of another idea -- mine and my fiancee's bugs are all on a large metal rack. When we'll be away for more than a day we use powerful magnets to hang a lightweight blanket from the rack's supports to keep our cats from getting too interested in the inverts. The same might work for phobic people. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blog Be nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |
