An impaction will cause two adjacent tergites to not be parallel. That's the best way I can describe it.
Or you can post a picture of your emp and we'll tell you if it looks like an impaction.

Im afriad i cant supply a picture, camera is broke and a little strapped for cash,
i believe the tergites are slightly wider apart on one side of the scorp, which would lead me to believe an impaction has occured...
are there any other "symptoms"?

To tell you the truth, most of what us everyday hobbyists know about impactions is conjecture . . .

Well i guess i could conject that if there WAS a gut mpaction he wouldnt be eating because it would be blocked... and hes eating voraciously so... what you think?

If he's eating voraciously, I wouldn't worry.
If he looks like he has a hernia, I'd worry.
