Why do Emps fast? What is it about their natural habitat that would require them to fast? Any other species do this?

they have such a slow metabolism that when they have had enough to eat, they don't need to feed for a while and can concentrate on other things, I'd imagine..

Lots of scorps can fast; one of our admin has had an Hadogenes paucidens go over a year without eating.

As S111 said, scorps have very slow metabolisms among arthropods, so very little is required to sustain them.

If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic.
