isopod's for my cage

thinkin of diggin through the backyard for an isopod to help with cage cleaning in my juvy emp cage. 2 juvi emps, would this be wise? would the isopod just get eaten or would it harm the babies?

If the isopod is huge and the emp is tiny, it could be dangerous.

If it brings in pesticide / herbicide / fertilizer residue or parasites, it could be dangerous.

The latter can be combated by breeding a generation or two in captivity.

IMO, isopods are overrated as tank cleaners. Just spot-clean leftover prey items and you'll be fine.

i've never heard anything bad about woodlice in tanks. they ignore living things, and munch on deads. they've helped clear up mould and all sorts in my tanks.
it only takes 2 weeks to quarantine them, i believe they only store toxic substances for about a week.

^A friend of mine put a woodlouse in with his baby U. mordax at my suggestion. A few days later, half the scorp was missing. It hadn't molted, either.

They eat detritus, and aren't very good at telling it apart from other bits of organic matter.

out of all the people i know that use woodlice, that's the first time i've ever heard anything negative. well you live and learn!
