its surprising that the first instar survived like that! i thought they were completely helpless on there own! amazing!

I'm pretty sure yours came from Specimen 6, Venom (the one with 30 young).

And Jordan, I was quite frankly amazed to see 1) a first-instar off of mom, and 2) him surviving to 2I without a problem . . . just a day late.

Regarding my "loving and thoughtful" names . . . Razz It's a new naming system I have. Males are letters, females are numbers. Offspring get the alphanumeric combination of their parents plus their own ID. That way I can track how closely my specimens are related to minimize inbreeding. I can also track how many captive generations are in a specimen's history.

For example, the young from Specimen 6 are currently labeled "-6. " meaning the parents are an unknown male and female 6. The blank will later be filled with a number or letter once they're large enough to sex.
