I think the not feeding on substrate method is overkill.

They can digesst bone for God sakes.

Millions feed on substrate and their snakes live a long time.

Only a few minorities actually get impacted.

I read an article in practicle reptile keeping about training snakes that says if you show them the tongs before you go in they recognize its dinner time, no tongs means handling time, although I guess you cant do that with your boa, good job they have a great sense of smell lol.

with our blindy (lol) if I open the doors and put my hand a few inches from his head so he can smell my hand he knows he's being handled

If I tap the substrate with the feeder item he goes into feeding mode - clever fella Smile

Well we are in a 1 bedroom flat and we have managed to cram 14 vivariums in it varying in size between 3 and 5 foot ( we have 3x 3 foot vivs, 2x 5 foot vivs the rest are 4ft )
and about 25 tubs ( some cereal tubs some rubs and a few critter keepers )
So we reaaaaaallyyyyy dont have space lmao

Oh then there is the 3ft by ft rat cages x2 The sugar glider gage 4ft tall 2 ftwide 2 ft deep
4 hamster cages, a 4ft ferret hutch but they live outside

so yeah lmao

They dont really take time to look after so that shouldnt be a problem, start with a baby and then you can watch it grow Very Happy
