| This has been evident since he arrived from the West coast (California). If somebody knows, please advise asap because he is vital in the growing "BROOD". Thanks all for addressing this and the comments as well | |

| I keep their environment to specifications. The tank in which this one is in, is completely dry; the only real concern I have is living in Illinois which is a humid state. I will increase the air flow but this appears to be a burn. I examined the Scorps when I go them and this particuler one had that mark evident and it has not spread elsewhere that I can see.
His appetite is sufficient but he is a little skittish as comapred to the "combatant" next door (separate tanks 5.5 with three to four inches of sand with a rock and driftwood, both of which throughly cleaned). I am in hopes that someone else with vast experience see both your threads and advises me on this; I am really disheartened and concerned at this point.

| A lot of scorps come in with mycosis; there's not a lot you can do about it once they have it. On the plus side, it's not somewhere vital (booklungs, pectines). | |

| So it is mycosis? I will get a closer picture somehow; what am I talking about as I need your professional judgement on this situation... | |

| looks like mycosis to me. So long as you keep it in the correct conditions it will be fine. I have found the vast majority of desert species I own that when kept in captivity, they have a touch of it somewhere.
It is extremely difficult to mimic 'in the wild' humidity gradients in their burrows. I just spray one corner on the glass once a month, she usually has a good drink.
If it spreads you need to up the temperature a touch and ensure optimum ventilation.
I keep mine in an open top tank to be certain of best ventilation

OP? who are they?? Anyway it very well looks like mycosis i cant think of any orther thing it could be.. i see alot of this stuff when ppl have shipped scorpions for a longer period because some "shippers" or sellers of scorpions have the idea that a yellow scorpion looks better on a black background so they will sell on soil some times moist and some shippers tend to ship with alot of wet stuff when its a desert sp..
