I am looking into getting one of these, what would be a good size or instar to get and not have to worry too much about molting issues or death?

adult is the only way to make sure you wont lose duing moulting as raising them to adult is hard. In the wild they have worked out their own way, finding the right level of moisture that isnt going to kill them with mycosis.

Adults HAVE been housed together but I dont think it works every time. best to have one adult

If you're gonna go off-topic, then start a new thread.

Anywho, Connie pretty much covered it. If you don't want to risk molting issues, get an adult -- but the downside is you could have five years, or you could have five days with it.

Thanks for the replies, I will consider both ages, and possibly get a smaller one with one or two molts left. I have not had any scorps die on me with molting issues yet. So I might press my luck.
